Rawalpindi Enforces Strict New Security Rules for Private Schools. The Rawalpindi District Education Authority has introduced strict new security standards for private schools, aiming to strengthen student safety across the district. The updated 14-point security plan has been enforced with immediate effect, and institutions have been told to comply without delay.
District Education Authority CEO Muhammad Tariq has made it clear that no negligence will be tolerated. Schools have been given two days to complete all required arrangements and submit compliance reports within the official deadline.
What the New Security SOPs Require
The revised safety guidelines cover physical security, surveillance, emergency planning, and access control. Schools must now meet the following mandatory standards:
Higher and Stronger Boundary Walls
Schools are required to build boundary walls at least eight feet high with an additional two feet of barbed wire on top to prevent unauthorized entry.
Full CCTV Coverage
Institutions must install CCTV cameras covering both indoor and outdoor areas, supported by strong backup systems such as UPS to ensure uninterrupted recording.
Functional Control Room
Every school must set up a dedicated control room to monitor surveillance footage and manage security operations in real time.
Metal Detectors & Security Scanning
Operational metal detectors are now compulsory at entry points to strengthen screening procedures.
Verified Security Guards
Schools must deploy trained and properly verified guards, equipped with approved weapons and dressed in official uniforms.
Access Control & Visitor Management
A visitors’ register must be maintained at all entry gates. Schools are also required to display emergency contact numbers prominently for quick response in any situation.
Safety Awareness & Emergency Preparedness
Institutions must place visible security instruction posters, mark all emergency exits, and carry out regular mock drills to ensure staff and students are prepared for emergencies.
Zero Tolerance for Negligence
CEO Muhammad Tariq has issued a strong warning to school administrations. Any failure to follow the new SOPs will result in strict legal action. He stressed that ensuring a safe environment for students is a top priority, and non-compliant institutions will face immediate consequences.
Why These Measures Matter
Security concerns in educational institutions have increased in recent years. Strengthening surveillance, access control, and emergency readiness not only protects students and teachers but also builds trust among parents. With these new directives, Rawalpindi aims to create a safer learning environment and reduce risks through proactive planning.
